Irish Room

A medieval oratory is the basis for the Irish Room's Romanesque styled architecture. Reminders of educational monastic activity are shown, besides the setting, in the Book of Kells facsimile, and the Harry Clarke Studios windows showing great teaching saints: Finnian, Columbkille, and Carthach.

A stone in this room has been repurposed from the ancient Church of Clonmacnoise to have in its engraved message a Gaelic phrase praising God and the honor of Ireland.
