Armenian Room

The Armenian Room is based upon the library, or matenadaran, at Sanahin Monastery, a 1,000 year old Armenian Apostolic monastery. The vaults and stone carvings reproduce known examples from churchs and a cathedral. The Armenian alphabet is shown on one wall, and shown in use with the English transliteration of famous Armenians' names.

Reminders of Christianity are carved in stone and wood, including in the door which is surmounted by an image of the sun rising above the sacred Mt. Ararat.
