Romanian Traditional Christmas Meal

Traditional dishes such as stuffed cabbage rolls, sausages, head cheese, aspic and cozonac (sweet bread) are always present on the Romanian Christmas table. Traditionally, the food is prepared after St. Ignat and stored through Christmas. Romanians fast in the weeks leading to Christmas, including Christmas Eve. Christmas day is when the feast begins with an assortment of dishes and desserts.
